Logon error: RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE

Hi all,

 

We're having problems when the users try to logon into Portal 7.3 to Webdynpro Java apps:

 

"RfcException: message: Select one of the installed languages Return code: RFC_SYS_EXCEPTION(3) error group: 103 key: RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE "

 

The users have language "ca_ES". The same users, with the same language, have no problems to logon into Portal 7.0... and the backend R/3 system is exactly the same, as this is the same WD Java app after the migration.

 

Any idea? Maybe we forgot to customize something in the JCOs?

Ajax Framework error

Hi,

 

I am getting below error while logged into portal even to all users. End user permissions given to everyone group and role eu_role on portal content. I am in ce7.2

I can see assigned roles on the TLN but getting below error if I click on any of the roles.

 

com.sapportals.portal.pcd.gl.PermissionControlException: Access denied (Object(s): portal_content/every_user/general/defaultAjaxframeworkContent/com.sap.portal.contentarea

 

Appreciate your inputs.

SUM Error while upgrading Portal from 731 to 7.4

Hi,

 

received below error during upgrade preparation.

 

 

        An error has occurred during the execution of the Verify signed content step.    

 

com.sap.security.digsig.SignedManifest.sapJniManifest(I[Ljava/lang/Object;)[Ljava/lang/Object;

 

VERIFY-SIGNED-CONTENT_03.LOG


The following problem has occurred during step execution: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com.sap.security.digsig.SignedManifest.sapJniManifest(I[Ljava/lang/Object;)[Ljava/lang/Object;.

 

 

couldn't find any SAP notes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Migration from Oracle to DB2

Hello Experts,

 

We are upgrading NetWeaver Portal from 7.0 to 7.4. Currently we have Composite Applications (WD Java on top of MDM) developed and deployed in Cmposite Environment(CE). Those CE applications are federated with portal and are not part of current migration. We are planning to federate those applications to upgraded version of portal. My question is this:

 

"How would go for CE federated? Any document for the same would be great. If not, kindly suggest me the way forward to assess the impact of CE federated into NetWeaver portal 7.4?"

 

Please let me know if you guys need more input.

Migration of WD Java DC from NWDI 7.0 to NWDI 7.4

Hello Experts,

 

We are upgrade SAP NW Portal from 7.0 to 7.4. As part of that we are migrating WDJ and Java DCs from NWDI 7.0 to NWDI 7.4.

 

Tracks are moved to NWDI 7.4 and required DC dependencies are included in the tracks. Since this is my first migration project, can anyone please share your knowledge and/or documents related to this migration?

 

I could find some docs related to that, but that doesn't cover entire migration process. It would be great if you share something like step-by-step document.

 

PS: We are using NWDS 7.1 SP12 for migration.

i'm trying to upgrade our NW7.0 EP to NW7.3. Portal is running on WIndows 2008 R2 and MSSQL 2008, JVM6 patch 34. Downtime phase has failed with strange error:

Cannot deploy KMC migration archive !!

Dear Talents,


I am facing an issue while upgrading Java stack from NW 7.0 EHP 1 to NW 7.4 during DEPLOY-KMC-COMPONENTS. FYI, this was after ABAP JAVA split with Keep DB option and upgrading BW ABAP to NW 7.4. Please find the below logs for more information.

Issue during execution Phase during NW 7.0 to Nw 7.4 Portal System

Hi All,

 

We are patching our Portal system from NW 7.0 to NW 7.4, and we are in Execution Phase and the SUM tool is failing with this error.

 

We have 1 CI, 1 App Server and Database is Oracle, all on different hosts. When its trying to upgrade the App Server its getting this error.

NetWeaver Upgrade From 7.0 to 7.4

Hi Experts,

 

 

We are in process of upgrading the Portal System from 7.0 to 7.4.

 

 

In addition to that we already have the below business package in our Portal System 7.0

 

 

1 .SAP ESS 603

 

 

2. SAP MSS 600

 

 

3. SAP ASR 600

 

 

4. SAP PSS 600

 

 

5. SAPPCUI_GP 603

Note : Back end : 604 (EHP4)

 

 

When I try to create the MOPZ in Solution manager we are getting the below error

 

 

" No NW 7.4 compatible EHP Technical Usage selected for ERP Instance SAP XSS (Self services)

 

 

As per the below wiki link , whether do we need to split the upgrade in 2 steps

Note : OS / DB are already met and we have ESS / MSS functionality in place

You can maintain user details in three places rite.

 

1,Portal DB,

 

2,R/3 End

 

3,Configuring LDAP server.

 

Can you please throw some clue for the above said tyeps and differences and advantages of each and tell me how to configure LDAP Server.

 

If anyone have step by step document pls send it to shakthigin@yahoo.co.in

Big Endian and Little Endian.

Hi,

 

Actually I have a query regarding Big Endian and Little Endian, During the Export of Database, Target Hardware Platform need to be mention as Big Endian or Little Endian (screenshot attached). Now my concern is this, suppose we are migrating from Windows to AIX and I selected my target system as Little Endian (but ofcourse AIX memory architecture is Big Endian). Will I be able to import my DB in AIX although I mentioned my target system as Little Endian. If NO, what need to be done?

Shall I take the complete export again or with some modification we can import it in AIX.

Hi gurus,

 

We are trying to do a system copy of a distributed system in a enterprise portal 7.00 with sapinst. We are in database parameters of central instance phase and this error occurs:

 

ERROR 2008-02-13 09:50:20

FJS-00003  TypeError: dbHost has no properties (in script NW_Java_CI|ind|ind|ind|ind, line 52229: ???)

 

ERROR 2008-02-13 09:50:21

FCO-00011  The step fillContextOranetwork with step key |NW_Java_CI|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_DBClient|ind|ind|ind|ind|9|0|NW_OraClient|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|fillContextOranetwork was executed with status ERROR .

 

Can anybody help me?

SUM Clean Module Password Required - Reset Java Upgrade

Hi we were upgrading EP Java and went to the Preprocessing phase where patches were applied to shadow instance. We decided we want a different version/set of patches and needed to recalculate stack file. We went ahead and cancelled the upgrade. We proceeded as follows:

 

1. SUM - Update - Reset Update. Message showed it was reset. Not sure if it "actually" worked. This was done according to SUM guide. Exited out of SUM with no errors.

2. Checked DB table - found schema present SAP<SID>SH - dropped schema with content

3. Checked main schema SAPSR3DB - 565 tables starting with SHD found . Dropped all these tables with cascade and purge.

4. Restored the /usr/sap/SID directory

5. Rebooted Server

6. SAP Starts up fine and everything works fine as before

7. Deleted shadow instance services from registry

8. No profiles found related to shadow instance

9. Deleted old SUM folder. Extracted fresh SUM and started

 

(Unfortunately in Java there is no option of RSUPGRES/RSUPGREV - neither is there a UVERS table - also there is no DDIC user which is being asked for when I do a SAPup prepare reset)

 

How do we clean up and do a reset for Java ? Ther's gotta be a place where SUM is reading old entries from. We really dont want to restore the DB but they may be the only solution it seems

 

Below is the message I get. I have opened a ticket with SAP and already checked OSS Note:

2011380 - Previous SUM not finished properly and asking for CLEAN
MODULE PASSWORD

  


      SUM has detected leftover artifacts that originate from previous SUM
      execution that was left unfinished. This SUM instance can attempt to
      cleaup the leftover data. In order to proceed please open OSS message in
      BC-UPG-TLS-TLJ with the following information:
   
        1. Your execution code: 1978128322
     
        2. Explanation why the previous SUM run was not finished. If possible:
        In which step you have stopped it.
    

    After you open the message enter bellow the supplied password and choose

    Continue.

EP 7.3 to 7.4-Notifications not working

Hi Experts,

 

We have upgraded the Portal from 7.3 to 7.4, and moved all content to the portal 7.4,

but notifications are not working.

Object is not able to fetch the content from the KM. we have compared everything(iView Properties and KM settings).

but couldn't able to trace the issue.

Seeking suggestions .

HTML 5 application does not run in IE11 Enterprise mode ?

Dear All,

 

I have a HTML5 Application which hosted on SAP Enterprise Portal. My Application run only in the IE Standard mode, but Enterprise mode.

 

If the Enterprise mode is enabled, there was some rendering issue, where all the UI's are displayed in the left side

When ever i click my application url, Enterprise mode is automatically Enabled. i had to disable every time when i access my application.

 

I have two question.

1. Mostly Web Application must run on both the modes . why the application run only on Standard mode but enterprise mode?

     When i checked about the functionality of Enterprise mode, i came to know that if the application does not work on Standard mode, enabling      Enterprise mode make it work . if the application still not work, maintaining the application url in the compatablity view settings make it work.

 

2. I have found a way to disable the Enterprise mode from Group policy editor(gpedit.msc) and regedit.

     Is there any way we can disable permanently from Browser setting? not to involve group policy editor and register edit
