Hi we were upgrading EP Java and went to the Preprocessing phase where patches were applied to shadow instance. We decided we want a different version/set of patches and needed to recalculate stack file. We went ahead and cancelled the upgrade. We proceeded as follows:

1. SUM - Update - Reset Update. Message showed it was reset. Not sure if it "actually" worked. This was done according to SUM guide. Exited out of SUM with no errors.

2. Checked DB table - found schema present SAP<SID>SH - dropped schema with content

3. Checked main schema SAPSR3DB - 565 tables starting with SHD found . Dropped all these tables with cascade and purge.

4. Restored the /usr/sap/SID directory

5. Rebooted Server

6. SAP Starts up fine and everything works fine as before

7. Deleted shadow instance services from registry

8. No profiles found related to shadow instance

9. Deleted old SUM folder. Extracted fresh SUM and started

(Unfortunately in Java there is no option of RSUPGRES/RSUPGREV - neither is there a UVERS table - also there is no DDIC user which is being asked for when I do a SAPup prepare reset)

How do we clean up and do a reset for Java ? Ther's gotta be a place where SUM is reading old entries from. We really dont want to restore the DB but they may be the only solution it seems

Hi Team,

We planned to upgrade Enterprise Portal from 7.01 to 7.4.

We have 40 Development customized components. We are aware of moving them

to throughout the landscape. But we are not aware of where exactly we

need to do these customized components during the upgrade. Its like

before upgrade , or in between or after the upgrade.

The upgrade is failing on DEPLOY_ONLINE phase.It trying to Deploy the SCA files and fails as it is unable to deploy 2 SCA files as shown below.

I have a HTML5 Application which hosted on SAP Enterprise Portal. My Application run only in the IE Standard mode, but Enterprise mode.

If the Enterprise mode is enabled, there was some rendering issue, where all the UI's are displayed in the left side

When ever i click my application url, Enterprise mode is automatically Enabled. i had to disable every time when i access my application.

I have two question.

1. Mostly Web Application must run on both the modes . why the application run only on Standard mode but enterprise mode?

     When i checked about the functionality of Enterprise mode, i came to know that if the application does not work on Standard mode, enabling      Enterprise mode make it work . if the application still not work, maintaining the application url in the compatablity view settings make it work.

2. I have found a way to disable the Enterprise mode from Group policy editor(gpedit.msc) and regedit.

     Is there any way we can disable permanently from Browser setting? not to involve group policy editor and register edit

We are upgrading our portal to the latest 7.3 portal and we are having issues with the mathead PAR file.

I imported the par file into NWDS 7.3 and deployed the EAR from NWDS to the 7.3 portal system. However when I try previewing the iView it gives Portal Runtime Exception. I also tried with the PAR Migration tool just to ensure I am not missing something when importing through NWDS. Still the same error with the iView.

My JSP code has errors in NWDS. But as the blogs on SDN says we are getting errors in the code since JSP doesnt compile at runtime, which is correct. I am still able to bundle it in an EAR and deploy successfully. However, is there anything I need to change.... any class references when importing masthead par from 7.0 to 7.3 ? Do I need to add any external libraray JARs for the below imports or we can simply ignore these errors?

We are in the process of upgrading PI system (dual stack) from 7.0 to 7.31, where we are using SUM 1.0 SP9.        OS- AIX 7.1 DB - 9.7

During the preprocessing phase JAVA shows "An error has occurred during the execution of the Start java shadow instance step."

Could not start SAP instance with number 2. The instance with number 2 on host sap-xxx could not be started within the specified timeout.

I've got a bit of a nasty problem during an upgrade.

System is running on enterprise linux 6 and with a Oracle DB 11.2.0.3

According to MOPZ:

The upgrade didn't get any farther than the calculation of the queue and then it stopped mentioning that it was missing files for RTLPOSDM to be able to calculate the queue.

Since BI_CONT was on a reasonably old version (and still with the RTLPOSDM packages included in BI_CONT) I decided to upgrade to BI_CONT 707 and RTLPOSDM 100_700. AFfer installing this, this is now the source release.

I'm trying to upgrade our EP (Java only) from NW 7.0 to NW 7.4. We did a test on a POC server last Summer and it went fine.

Now, it's time to do real upgrade on our servers; of course, the old SUM version doesn't work anymore. I used MOPZ to generate new stack files, download the latest components and all.

Somehow, the SUM kept failing at step 5.5 - Preprocessing when it tries to Start shadow instance SCS.

The log only indicates that SUM tried to start the instance a 20 times (with 15-second pauses in between) so it gave up. The last part of the log shows

The only SAP Note I found is 1937296 where it says you'd need the latest kernel. But I've already had the latest kernel.

What bothers me is "Invalid Credentials" --> which credentials?

I tried several different things. Reset the upgrade, cleaned up the SUM directory, re-start the upgrade from scratch several times. I've also tried to re-start the instance; even re-started the server a couple of times ... to no avail :-(

I also tried to run the sapstartsrv command line

We have recently upgraded our EP portal from 7.01 to 7.4, and also we

have BI Portal which is running on 7.3.

Previously BI Portal act as Producer and EP Portal as a Consumer, now

while reconfiguring Federated portal I am getting below error.

“If the remote system is the same SAP NetWeaver release as your system,

then a two-way registration is performed.

If the remote system is a lower SAP NetWeaver release, then a one-way

registration of your system as a consumer of the remote system

(producer) is performed

If I try to register same with EP portal it successful registered, but

it won’t show previously assigned role of BI portal users, if I

manually assign than it shows but after deregister and reconfigure it

again it delete producer Portal role in consumer Portal users, we have to re assign role every time

after system refresh which is not possible for more than 2000 users.

Kindly advice how to resolve this.

We have upgraded Portal from NW 7.0 to 7.4 ,now facing a Portal Runtime error when opening the iView Personalization window.

Getting  the below error in the logs

Lookup failed for gwd: gwd:/tc~pp~iview_per

Is it possible to export the taxonomy configuration from an EP60 SP2 system and import it into a NW04 SP14 system.

We did not migrate TREX using the tools. We decided to rebuild the indexes on the target NW platform after all the content was migrated. It takes us about 2 hours to manually rebuild the taxonomy's in this scenario.

I was wondering if there was a way to get the taxonomy configuration from the EP6 system and load it into the NW04 system to avoid this 2 hours of rebuild time???

(Besides, I don' think the migration tools migrated the taxonomy configuration anyways)

Hello People,

We are currently in the process of upgrading our portal from EP7.4 SP03 to EP 7.4 SP07.

There are some remote iviews that we take from another portal.

These remote role assignment iviews do not open and no reports open assigned with them giving us the below error:

Could not open iView. The iView is not compatible with your browser,
operating system, or device. Contact your system administrator for more
information

These iviews work with IE9,IE11 but not with Chrome on the Consumer portal

These iVIews are rendering on the Producer portal (EP7.0) but not on the Consumer,newer version.

The issue with the remote iViews is only on Chrome. I did not find any SAP note or patch that can help with the compatibility for Chrome.

Does anyone has idea regarding this?

Hi Experts,

Need your help. Currently we are facing issue in KM multiple uploads.We have Multiple upload option in K8D which is development environment but we are not seeing that option in Production Environment. Please find the screenshots as below ::

We tried to check the settings in K8D and K8P everything is similar. There is no difference so we need experts advise on this issue what we need to do to make multiple uploads available in KM. Since this is a standard functionality but it is only availble in our Development tool.

but on step A.3 I can't choose / find the the "SAP BusinessObjects System Template" could someone help me out?!

A.3) Define a System Landscape and Create an Alias

1. Select New> System (from template or PAR). When you create an Iview from PAR, all settings are blank. A template is based on PAR with predefine settings. In our case we have selected from Template.

2.  In the System Wizard, select the option "SAP BusinessObjects System Template".

Hi All!
I am having some problems with the generic java querry iView on a 7.3 portal, with the ess / mss packages (Java version).

What I would like to do is to add a custom querry iView to the mss view general information – so that the querry updates when a person is selected in the teamviewer.

I have the self service administrator role, and what I have done so far is:

throught the Self Service Administrator View I have browsed the general information fpm app:
Portal Content > Content Provided By SAP > srvconfig > com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.mss> Employee Profiles > FPM Applications, and here I open the General Information application.

Then I browse to the Generic iView Table:

Portal Content > Content Provided By SAP > srvconfig > com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.mss> Generic iView FPM Views and right click on the Generic iView Table and add this to the General information application.

I fill  in the querry information and save the application.

Afterwards I go to the Content administration view, and browse down the Web Dynpro Java Applications, and then I select the mss application called:

1. sap.com/mss~eepro

on the tab called:Application Page I was expecting my new view to turn up – so that I could make a copy of the application – but nothing is there.

Have I misunderstood something – or is there another way to do this?

Hi All,

We have upgraded our ECC from ehp 5 to ehp7 and installed a new portal 7.31.

I have applied custom theme in portal which is working fine.

But this theme does not apply to WDA(Standard like ESS, MSS and custom) as after upgrade ECC is using sap corbu theme so background color is grey and font is also very different.

We tried changing the stylesheet(downloading ie6 file and changing it and again uploading it) at ECC side but we were getting many dump. So reverted it.

Please let me know whow can we make the look and feel of WDA same as portal theme.
