We have upgraded Portal from NW 7.0 to 7.4 ,now facing a Portal Runtime error when opening the iView Personalization window.

Getting  the below error in the logs

While upgrading our BI system using SUM i am getting missing support packages error for RTLPOSDM component.

Our current BI_CONT version is 703 patch 09. i want to upgrade to version 707. I raised message with SAP and get

suggested to include RTLPOSDM 100 700 content in mopz in add on selection phase. but i have not found any add

on's related to this component in MOPZ. And also SAP suggested to select RTLPOSDM in addon_dyn phase but

i didn't get this phase. Please help me to resolve this issue.

i have configured Jco settings but when i test jco "SAP_R3_Financials_MetaData" i get the following error

We are planning to upgrade the GRC 5.2 to GRC 5.3.Before doing it in production server we thought of doing it in another server which is replica of Prod.We took data VG backup of Prod and restored it in another server with different host name and ip.We could not restore the root vg for some limitation.We have substituted the hostname in all profile files of new server..i have started the db. while doing system start other services are starting but java service is not starting.When I tried to start configtool it gave below mentioned error.

spdbpd:grcadm> ./configtool.sh

The java class is not found:  com.sap.engine.offline.OfflineToolStart

Please help me to troubleshoot this.

We are upgrading Enterprise Portal from 7.02 to 7.40 using latest SUM
(1.0 SP12) and getting error right in the beginning "Specify Credentials" phase when we start SUM
tool:

      Could not detect AS Java release. Return
      code condition success evaluated to false for process
      e:\usr\sap\DP2\JC01\j2ee\cluster\bootstrap\scripts\version.bat for
      action ACTION_VERSION.

We have already tried the below:

- 1681776 - Update fails with - Could not detect AS Java release.
- 2084188 - Could not detect AS Java release
- Set service/protectedwebmethods = DEFAULT in default profile
- Rebooted Entire server (Sapstartsrv processes also restarted
obviously)

- Gave full Permission to cluster/bootstrap/scripts folder
- Checked JVM version in configtool, ENV JAVA_HOME, command prompt,
Java System Info, Instance Profile. JVM version looks good in all
aspects
- We do NOT have have SERVERCORE component installed as we are on 702. We also did not
have ..cluster/bootstrap/scripts folder earlier. So we created the "scripts"
folder manually under bootstrap and put the contents of attachment from OSS Note 1681776 inside
the scrips folder. Did not help before or after
- We are not able to apply SERVERCORE as we are on 7.02 and the minimum
I see in Marketplace is 710 and it is not accepted with SDM, JSPM or

Hello Gurus,

Here is the problem I am facing.

1) The project I am working has Standalone ITS connected to 4.7 SAP server and EP 6.0 used to get data from ITS. 

2) Changes are made to template for SAP standard Leave Request in ESS package.

3) Now we have ECC 6.0 SAP box, I can find changes in template in this server. Now ECC 6.0 server is accessed by SAP 7.0 server.

IAC Services that are created in SAP 4.7 server and accessed through EP 6.0 is not working in ECC 6.0 with EP 7.0.  What is not working is that, changed templates of Leave Request service of ESS is not showing changed template done in SAP 4.7 server.  But it is showing SAP standard templates!!?

Please suggest me where might be the problem, whether SICF is not configured or any other settings missing.

In SICF transaction I have filled following paramters in GUI configuration

~THEME = 99

~WEBTRANSACTIONTYPE = EWT

Actually I have a query regarding Big Endian and Little Endian, During the Export of Database, Target Hardware Platform need to be mention as Big Endian or Little Endian (screenshot attached). Now my concern is this, suppose we are migrating from Windows to AIX and I selected my target system as Little Endian (but ofcourse AIX memory architecture is Big Endian). Will I be able to import my DB in AIX although I mentioned my target system as Little Endian. If NO, what need to be done?

Shall I take the complete export again or with some modification we can import it in AIX.

We have EP6.0 SP19 and we are planning to go with EP7.0, now the thing is that we already have some content on the EP6.0 web dynpro applications, business packages and other content.

We are thinking to go for a new server for EP7.0 and need to migrate all the content from EP 6.0 to the new EP 7.0.

PLease help me with suggestions as how can I migrate the content present on EP 6.0 to EP7.0.

Hi all,

I'm trying to upgrade our EP (Java only) from NW 7.0 to NW 7.4. We did a test on a POC server last Summer and it went fine.

Now, it's time to do real upgrade on our servers; of course, the old SUM version doesn't work anymore. I used MOPZ to generate new stack files, download the latest components and all.

Somehow, the SUM kept failing at step 5.5 - Preprocessing when it tries to Start shadow instance SCS.

The log only indicates that SUM tried to start the instance a 20 times (with 15-second pauses in between) so it gave up. The last part of the log shows

The only SAP Note I found is 1937296 where it says you'd need the latest kernel. But I've already had the latest kernel.

What bothers me is "Invalid Credentials" --> which credentials?

I tried several different things. Reset the upgrade, cleaned up the SUM directory, re-start the upgrade from scratch several times. I've also tried to re-start the instance; even re-started the server a couple of times ... to no avail :-(

I also tried to run the sapstartsrv command line

and I'd get the error

Hi All,

We have upgraded our ECC from ehp 5 to ehp7 and installed a new portal 7.31.

I have applied custom theme in portal which is working fine.

But this theme does not apply to WDA(Standard like ESS, MSS and custom) as after upgrade ECC is using sap corbu theme so background color is grey and font is also very different.

We tried changing the stylesheet(downloading ie6 file and changing it and again uploading it) at ECC side but we were getting many dump. So reverted it.

Please let me know whow can we make the look and feel of WDA same as portal theme.

We are trying to upgrade SAP ERP 6.0 to SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 7, in the pre-processing phase of MAIN_SHDRUN/RUN_RSPTBFIL_INISHD stage we are getting an error where the batchjob RSPTBFIL is failing with DBSQL_INTERNAL_ERROR.There is no sufficient information in PROCESSMACROFILE_RSPTBFIL.LOG, RSPTBSHDIN_PH.LOG , RSPTBSHDIN.SID & SAPup.log

I am in process of SAP portal upgrade.

Source:     EP NW 7.0 SPS26

Target:     NW 7.3 EHP1 Upgrade

OS is windows 2003 with database as MSSQL 2005.

Database to be upgraded to MSSQL 2008 with OS windows 2008.

• Database is already migrated to MSSQL 2008.
• Stack file generated and upgrade patches already downloaded
• Latest SUM verion 1.0.9.1

I am at configuration phase of Upgrade where it is checking target release component list

I have manually downloaded BP* packages and retried now it is asking for remaining component as below.

UWL

wikipedia

Logoff

tc/kmc/kmc.bb.app/mossproxy

and few more.

I am not sure why is it asking for these as the required software component must be calculated by solman while generating the stack file.

Do anyone have idea what should be done for this.Might be it is no more in newer version but I am not sure, please suggest

We are upgrading our portal to the latest 7.3 portal and we are having issues with the mathead PAR file.

I imported the par file into NWDS 7.3 and deployed the EAR from NWDS to the 7.3 portal system. However when I try previewing the iView it gives Portal Runtime Exception. I also tried with the PAR Migration tool just to ensure I am not missing something when importing through NWDS. Still the same error with the iView.

My JSP code has errors in NWDS. But as the blogs on SDN says we are getting errors in the code since JSP doesnt compile at runtime, which is correct. I am still able to bundle it in an EAR and deploy successfully. However, is there anything I need to change.... any class references when importing masthead par from 7.0 to 7.3 ? Do I need to add any external libraray JARs for the below imports or we can simply ignore these errors?

Maybe someone can help here since we are experiencing a severe problem.

Following error occurs:

An error has occurred during the execution of the RUN_OFFLINE_MIGRATION phase.

Error while processing migration list /data/inst/sap/SUM/T57a/java/data/mig/MIGRATIONAUSF.LST. Could not migrate some archives from migration list.Possible reason is Database is down.Check if database running Error during migration of archive /data/inst/sap/SUM/T57a/java/data/mig/DEPLOYARCHIVES/com.sap.security.migration.sda which has been extracted to directory /data/inst/sap/SUM/T57a/java/migtool/com.sap.security.migration.Possible reason is Database is down.Check if database running Could not execute MTI process. See log files /data/inst/sap/SUM/T57a/java/log/JMT_FRAMEWORK_RDM_01.OUT and /data/inst/sap/SUM/T57a/java/log/JMT_FRAMEWORK_RDM_01.ERR. Return code condition success evaluated to false for process java for action RUN_MTI.

Steps taken:

1) When we first ran into this problem a restore was done from the database and the filesystem to the beginning of the DONWTIME phase.

2) The original 7.02 instance was started.

3) The UME consistency check was run under user administration per sap note 1016283.

4) A repair was carried out,  no inconsistencies remained.

5) SUM upgrade restarted

6) During the migration of the sap.security.migration.sda package it generates an error causing the upgrade to stop.

Did anyone encounter the same problems during a portal upgrade?
