We have changed the jdbc driver specification and url from code.

Basically what has been done is,tables are added from backend and on those tables applications are developed .

Prior to migration things were working,post migration when we are trying to access those links from frontend we are getting above error.

I want to know, is any one has went through the upgrade situation of 2 SAP system on MCOD database.

we have BI ABAP and BI Java sharing same database (MCOD) on single host and plan to upgrade from 7.01 to 7.31.

As per SAP documentation we can not perform parallel updates in MCOD systems.

But can we start the execution of the steps in parallel till the pre-processing phase and execute the downtime phase unparallel keeping it in mind there will two separate SUM dir one for ABAP and other for JAVA. Also we use nZDM methodology.

    We are upgrading EP system from SAP NW 701 to SAP NW7.4. DB is SQL Server

During the upgrade, I'm struck up in the execution phase and I get the below error message.

Need your help. Currently we are facing issue in KM multiple uploads.We have Multiple upload option in K8D which is development environment but we are not seeing that option in Production Environment. Please find the screenshots as below ::

I am trying to migrate the custom masthead par file in 7.3 portal.

1. Converted the par file into .ear file using the Par migration tool

2. Imported the .ear file into NWDS

The problem is that I can't select Biller Direct and Learning Solution in MOPz and when I continue then an error occures:

I can't select “SAP FSCM - Biller Direct” and SAP Learning Sol-Frontend CP:

I found Note 2000672 - MOPZ - Select a technical usage to update LSOCP

But it didn't help me, because I can't select HCM - Learning Solution  near HCM - Learning Sol Standalone

The same in SAP FSCM – Biller Direct

I can send additional info if need be.

SolMan version is SolMan 7.1 SP10

Is the installation correct or is something missing so I can't select Biller Direct or Learning Solution? Thes in my training system and I would be very grateful for any information or comments about the Installation.

Actually I have a query regarding Big Endian and Little Endian, During the Export of Database, Target Hardware Platform need to be mention as Big Endian or Little Endian (screenshot attached). Now my concern is this, suppose we are migrating from Windows to AIX and I selected my target system as Little Endian (but ofcourse AIX memory architecture is Big Endian). Will I be able to import my DB in AIX although I mentioned my target system as Little Endian. If NO, what need to be done?

Shall I take the complete export again or with some modification we can import it in AIX.

Hi All,

I used the PAR migration tool to migrate from PAR to EAR file. When I imported the EAR into NWDS 7.3, I was just able to see the structure and jsp files and could not find the java source code files. I would requires the java source code to make modifications so that deprecated APIs can be replaced and to also make the code compatible with JDK 1.6.

I think the original 7.0 PAR file itself does not contain the source code. I decided to use the "Include source code" option when exporting the 7.0 PAR.

I have the portal application DC project in my NWDS 7.0. However, when I try to export the PAR file using Export --> PAR File -- > Next... I am unable to select any project from the list. The list appears blank with disabled Next & Finish buttons.

I also noticed that in the portal DC application structure, there is a .sda file under /gen/default/deploy. Also there is no PAR folder under /gen/default/public.

How do I include the source in the PAR file so that I can edit the same after migrating to EAR format ?

Hi, I am currently performing an Portal Upgrade from NW 7.0 to NW 7.4, and am stuck at Configuration phase

Its asking me to insert the DVD Type NW_JAVA, Desciption is NW Java Content DVD.

And below that its asking CD Type as J2EE-CD,J2EE-INST,JDMP.

Am I am not able to figure out which DVD needs to be given for the same.

Can someone help regarding the same?

Hi, Is there a direct upgrade path available from 7.0 to 7.31? we are looking to update our old portal, was looking at if we can update it directly from 7.0 to 7.31?

Or, do we have to go thru the option of updating 7.0 to 7.3 first, and then install the EHP1 to bring up the system to 7.31

We have integrated a custom developed WD-ABAP  iView (Organizational History) into Employee Profile Page(com.sap.pct.erp.mss.general_information) .

When the page is opened for the first time the Organizational History iView is not showing data based on the employee shown in the employee search iview but if we revisit the page again the data is being shown.

The ABAP team informs that they are unable to fetch the initial Pernr so what should be approach to achieve the functionality.ie when the page is opened the 1st employee's show in the employee search data should be fetched and his organizational history details should be displayed .

Please let us know what could be the problem and possible solution.

We are just now starting our EP6 upgrade project and are in the midst of much evaluation, including our options for the development environment, which is my responsibility. I've read through lot's of the materials on SDN and will continue to do so but in the mean time will ask a few questions.

1.) Most of the Netweaver Developer Studio documentation i've read makes little mention of iView development and the PDK. Is the PDK delivered with NDS?

2.) One presentation I reviewed had 3 dev environment scenarios, the minimal one still involving the DTR. Has anyone gone to EP6 using just the PDK, porting old EP5 developed iViews (java, htmlb, jsp) to EP6. We're leaning toward a minimal dev environment config for now, electing to go for the DTR, build, deploy (Developer Workbench?) capabilities later. Does this sound like a reasonable approach? Any potential pitfalls?

3.) The Developer desktop. Sorry if this is a very basic question. Of course the old involved Eclipse, PDK, Tomcat, etc. From the reading I've done it seems that developers are loading the whole lot, WebAS 640, J2EE, Portal, PDK local? Of course in a minimal config you could just use Eclipse and test on a development box. For those however opting for a local dev and test is what I described close to the truth?

I am upgrading NW from 7.02 to 7.3 these days.

Phase MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPG had run almost 16 days but was terminated due to power off accidently.

I restart the STARTUP under upgrade folder but error occurs like this:

I searched this problem on the forum and somebody say that it's due to shadow instance not started.

So I tried to start the shadow instance under folder /usr/sap/<SID>/upg/abap/bin use the following command:

SAPup startshd

But there's a fatal error:

FATAL ERROR: Process 'sapcontrol' exited with 1, see '/usr/sap/S01/upg/abap/log/SAPup.ECO' for details

And the last few lines in log SAPup.ECO are:
